Contrary to popular belief, I'm alive and well. Well, sort of...I'm having a wierd allergic reaction to some antibiotic I took recently but I haven't missed any school because of it...but I do need to catch up on play memorizeation...I have the lead role this time...
But on to prepaid wireless...
RadioShack (the link is in the title of this post) has a sweet promotion on the Nokia 2126: it's a mere $15 (plus tax and shipping) after an online discount. 50% less than what Tracfone and pretty much everyone else is charging right now for the phone...which is nice. As I said, shipping costs extra, unless you (?) use their Ship-to-Store feature or buy several of these phones at a time or somehow otherwise bring the order total above $50. But anyway, this is a nice deal on this phone...it's cheaper this way than it ever was before (it stared out at $19.99 plus tax and maybe shipping, then rose to $29.99). Granted, it's not SingleRate, but it is a solid phone.

My Tracfone 2126 is Single Rate, at least when on Verizon towers.
This may just be a quirk of activating it on Verizon, but last week I went from my home area to the mountains 100 miles west of here (native Verizon) and it only charged 1 unit/minute.
Yes, that was well outside my "home area" as shown on Tracfone's own maps.
Dollar General and Family Dollar frequently only charge $15 for the Nokia 2126. That appears to be Dollar General's regular price now. Plus, I found a bunch of 2126's at Wal-Mart in the clearance aisle for $15 with 60 minutes of airtime included. When I activated it, I got the 60 plus the usual 20.
Awesome article, thanks for the post!http://ezprepaidcellular.com/
